MobiliseYourCity is glad to announce the first MobiliseDays Cameroon, the 2-day seminar for national urban mobility in Cameroon that will take place in Hotel du Mont Fébé in Yaoundé on the 28 and 29 June at the Mont Fébé Hotel. 50 participants representing national and local authorities will work together with international experts to draw a roadmap for the country and its cities. Cameroon is the first country to host the Mobilise Days and its cities will be the first to officially apply to the initiative.
This seminar, organised by CODATU on behalf of the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development (MINHDU) and AFD will be about changing cities through urban transport cities. The examples of Cape Town (South Africa), Lagos (Nigeria) and Bordeaux (France), will be presented as they showcase good practices of how cities can be changed though urban transport planning. There will also be an intervention from CEREMA to present how to overcome financial and institutional problems.
The seminar will be opened by His Excellency Jean-Claude Mbwentchou, minister of Housing and Urban development.
Outcomes of the seminar will enable Cameroon and its cities to engage in MobiliseYourCity. Final national roadmap and selected cities will be announced during COP22 in Marrakech.
