4th April 2019, Berlin
For the 5th edition of the Steering Committee, around 30 representatives of our Partners gathered at the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), in Berlin/Germany.
The Steering Committee welcomed highly valued observers, such as our Network Partners PLATFORMA and ITDP, the Transformative Urban Mobility Initiative (TUMI), and Jean Yango as representative of the City of Douala.
The Steering Committee gave the occasion to acknowledge the ever-growing presence of the MobiliseYourCity Partnership on the international stage within the field of sustainable urban transition, and to exchange among Partners about its impacts in the global fight against climate change and for a more sustainable future. As the Partnership has been substantially developing in its geographical coverage and provision of technical assistance, the Steering Committee emphasized the importance of further advancing the Partnership´s methodological framework, to consolidate conduct, and to foster take up by all involved Partners. The potential to intensify collaboration and complementarity of activities between our various stakeholders is an essential strength of MobiliseYourCity. The opportunity to further activate long-term dialogue and cooperation between beneficiary cities and countries was a focus topic of discussion.
The Steering Committee validated six cities as new Beneficiary Partners, namely the African cities Lomé/Togo, Kumasi/Ghana, Bobo Dioulasso/ Burkina Faso, the Eastern European city Tbilisi/Georgia, and the Latin America cities Belo Horizonte/Brazil, and Trujillo/Peru. We warmly welcome our new Partners!
