Navigating Urban Transport in a Changing Climate: How to mainstream climate adaptation into mobility planning
Session forming part of the Transport and Climate Change Week from November 4th to 8th 2024
Description
The session will examine the climate change hazards and challenges that cities are facing in the context of urban mobility. The session will commence with a presentation of the various principles that can be applied in urban mobility adaptation measures. This will be followed by an examination of how to incorporate adaptation within the SUMP process. A case study of a city in the global south will then be presented, identifying the challenges and actions taken. This will be followed by an interactive activity and discussion on the obstacles and opportunities to implement adaptation measures in the participating cities.
Objective
