SUMP Readiness Checklist

Before embarking on SUMP preparation, a readiness assessment will help the city identify its strengths and determine the additional efforts needed to implement the MobiliseYourCity approach in line with the SUMP toolkit and local context.

The activities presented in the "SUMP readiness checklist" can guide the city in embracing the core principles of SUMP and potentially highlight the need for external support. Accordingly, if external support is required, the necessary requirements to adapt the Terms of Reference (ToR) for the related services are highlighted. The initial assesment will conribute on the ToR formulation, which will specify the tasks and deliverables for the external supporting organization throughout the SUMP cycle. Hence, it's essential to delineate which activities can be handled by local authorities and which tasks should be outsourced during the entire SUMP development process.
